Especially if you aren't playing on the highest difficulty where you have a time limit to beat the game, the extra stuff to do isn't that bad, because you can just take your time doing it. It will change how you play the game though, but that might not be as bad for a new player. It's very different from the rest of the game, and offers a new experience, while rewarding you with rare 'set' trinkets for your characters, that are very nice and have a little bit of lore on them.
Well, since most of the reviews were made, the Curse is now notably less likely to come down on your party, as the source of the Curse that exists outside of the Courtyard is much less common. However, what a lot of people didn't like was the Curse itself, and how it would spread to your party and force you into the Courtyard. Players have fairly mixed opinions on the Court itself, but most people like the Districts and Flagellant class, and most importantly, you can just turn those two on, and leave out the Courtyard (and the Curse). I like it, but might not be best for a new player, nor is there a problem adding it later on.Ĭrimson Court is the big one here. The Shieldbreaker is fun, but adds a bit of difficulty early on.
Haven't played Color of Madness, but do have the other two.
